MEMORANDUM
TO : All Regional Directors
District Officers and
Team Leaders
SUBJECT : Coordination with local governments in undertaking development projects
In line with the President's policy of involving local governments in the development efforts, you are hereby directed to establish rapport and coordination with local governments.
In many instance, development projects are being undertaken within the periphery of local government units (barangay, municipality, city province) without even the official knowledge of the local chief executives. While it is true that DAR programs and projects are funded from the national government yet a lot could be gained when projects undertaken within the periphery of the local governments are brought to the knowledge and attention of the mayors or governors as the case may be. Undoubtedly, this elementary rule of courtesy will enhance better coordination and cooperation between the local executive and DAR. It is desired, henceforth, that whatever projects or activities DAR has to undertake within a barangay, municipality, city or province, the local chief executive should be appraised of such.
All Regional Directors, District Officers and Team Leaders shall be held responsible in implementing this directive.
Strict compliance hereto is enjoined.
